The Parata-River Agritourism, located in the province of Rome, is an oasis of relaxation and good food immersed in nature, overlooking the picturesque Aniene River.
Here, a selection of freshwater fish specialties is offered, with particular attention to trout and sturgeon, which are raised directly in the waters of the Aniene River.
Our business was born in the 1960s, when our grandfather decided to build a dam on the river to raise the water level and dedicate it to fish farming, thus ensuring a continuous and optimal flow for our fish.
In 1997, from our father′s vision, Parata-River Agritourism was born: a place where the products raised on-site are prepared and served to our guests.

THE LOCATION

Our privileged location directly on the river provides breathtaking views and the opportunity to experience an authentic stay, immersed in nature and the relaxing atmosphere of the territory.
We have parking directly on the property, very convenient and easily accessible.
We accept pets, as long as they are well-mannered, because we believe in the well being and joy they can bring.

AQUACULTURE

Fish farming on the Aniene river represents a sustainable and strategic activity for our production of high quality fish. This practice involves the controlled breeding of species such as trout and sturgeon, taking advantage of the resources offered by the river in a responsible manner.
The trout is known for its delicate, flavorful, and nutrient-rich flesh. It is a very versatile fish in the kitchen and can be prepared in many ways: from tartare to carpaccio; cooked, grilled, baked, pan-fried, deep-fried or marinated, to always offer new taste experiences to our customers.
Sturgeons, known for their fine flesh and their culinary value, are a legacy of European tradition and represent a real delight for those looking for authentic and refined flavors. They too lend themselves to numerous preparation methods, from the classic smoking to the pickling, keeping intact their special character.

THE COUSINE

Our restaurant is a unique place in the area for tasting freshwater fish. Thanks to our technical preparation, versatility in cooking methods, attention to detail, and the freshness of the ingredients, we offer a wide variety of dishes designed to enhance local products and satisfy every palate, according to the season.
Our most important dishes are definitely those related to the fish that we farm ourselves. But on the menu, you will also find meat dishes, vegetarian and vegan options, as well as dishes suitable for those who have intolerances or are coeliac.
Other specialties are the trout tartare, the fried sturgeon, strozzapreti pasta with porcini mushrooms and trout, the seared sturgeon steak, and the fried trout sticks. All paired with excellent wines. Our desserts are also greatly appreciated.
During the winter, the terrace closes and we reopen the doors to the indoor room, heated by a cozy fireplace, to ensure comfort and a warm ambiance even on the coldest days.

PIZZAS AND FOCACCIAS

Our pizzas and focaccias are cooked in a wood-fired oven for an authentic and irresistible flavor.
We offer a wide selection of traditional pizzas from the region, prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Don′t miss the opportunity to try all the typical variations, from Margherita to Tricolore, up to the gourmet specialties.
TEAM
Our team is the beating heart of the company. With over 65 years of experience in the aquaculture sector, our passion and expertise are the result of decades of dedication and attention to detail.
To always offer the best to our customers, we continually invest in staff training, regularly updating ourselves and changing the menu to follow the seasonality of products and to guarantee freshness and quality.
Our sommelier, a third level FIS, is at your disposal in the dining room to take care of the perfect pairing between food and wine, enriching the gastronomic experience with selected wine creations.
We believe in a warm and informal service, designed to make you feel comfortable and make every visit unique.
